Lis Kuschel
Learning & Skills Sector Chair
Lis has lived in the Ely area for over 40 years. Her background has been in business with the family business and education as Deputy Head of a large secondary school in Peterborough. She is married, with two sons and two grandchildren.
She has been in local government for eight years and a Councillor and Vice Chair of Cambridgeshire County Council for Ely North, and Chair of East Cambridgeshire District Council. Her interests are still in education and working on behalf of children in care. She has twice been Mayor of the City of Ely Council and served on all committees. As East Cambridgeshire Community Champion for the County, she is working with local organisations for better facilities and securing funding to support community activity.
As well as being Chair of the Chamber’s Learning and Skills Sector she is a school governor and a trustee for the Museum, Pos+Ability, Volunteers Centre and Ely Choral Society and a member of the Combined Authority Skills Committee for East Cambridgeshire.
