The policy activity of Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce is aimed at improving business operating conditions for the benefit of members and the wider business community.
We represent the views of our members on a variety of local groups. We also take up issues on behalf of individual member companies with local and national government; helping to resolve them where possible.
The Chamber influences the local planning process by participating in consultations and responding to consultative documents and is increasingly being asked by the media to provide a local business perspective on topical issues.
At a national level we contribute to the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) consultations on national policy papers. We liaise with other Chambers and the BCC to lobby on behalf of members on issues such as broadband access, insurance costs and the red tape burden.
The Policy Team also co-ordinates the Cambridgeshire Quarterly Economic Survey which tracks the performance of local businesses. These local results are combined with the results of the BCC survey to give a national picture of the current business and economic climate.
