| Business Women's Christmas Lunch | ||

| Business Women were given a lift at the Christmas Lunch in December when event sponsors Rigby & Peller explained the importance of wearing the correct undergarments.
This was complemented by a short talk from local fashion expert Jackie Perkins who gave women some advice for when it comes to dressing for all occasions in one day! Using her bottom-less bag (imagine the scene from Mary Poppins) she showed how easy it was to pack a tiny brief-case with numerous items of clothing. The trick here ladies is to roll and not fold your clothes. Ramada Hotel, located in the surroundings of Thorpe Meadows, played host to this annual Christmas Lunch. Thanks to John and his team who looked after us very well. Gillian Beasley concluded the formal part by giving an introduction to the soon to be opened Women's Enterprise Centre in Peterborough. This centre will provide a raft of support to women considering starting up their own business. Support from women already in business as well as women professionals will be needed so we look forward to hearing more about this in due course. A raffle took place, raising just over £100 for the Chambers nominated charity Deafblind UK. We are grateful to the people and businesses who kindly donated prizes to this.
