The Construction Sector was one of the first sectors to be established, and is now into its 12th year.

It was formed to address the needs of the construction sector and related industries, such as skills shortages and awareness of new schemes and developments. However its specific objectives are to provide:

A 'framework for support' to help businesses anticipate and adapt to changes forced upon them by technological, environmental, regional, national and international issues.

A sector based regional representation in the strategic planning/delivery process

The Steering Committee, chaired by Philip Elmer of cba ltd meets regularly to discuss and take forward issues relevant to the construction industry. They also regularly organise and promote industry-specific events and seminars, which provide additional networking opportunities. Diverse subject areas are covered in these events, with training, lobbying, awareness events and supply chains management being some of the main areas of focus. Past events have included:
