The Engineering, Design and Manufacturing Sector was successfully launched in 2005, when an event was hosted in Peterborough with key note speaker Hans Haefli, President of Perkins Engines and Vice President of Caterpillar Inc.

The purpose of this sector is to provide a forum whereby businesses involved in this industry can meet to discuss and take forward relevant issues, to allow networking opportunities, to exchange views, experiences and contacts.

The working-group of this sector, chaired by Barry Charnley (Business Development Manager at Perkins), is made up of representatives from a number of organisations with a wealth of experience in the engineering and manufacturing field.
