The ICT Sector was launched in November 2006 with the forward aim of helping Chamber members to capitalise on the advantages of new technology in this fast moving arena.
The Chamber provides a safety net for its members. Using the Chamber as a signboard for direction to good advice, sound practise and price appropriate to the market is good policy. The ICT Committee follows the same policies. Members have signed a Charter pledging best advice, support services, focus on customer satisfaction, respect for the customer and inter-company co-operation and promotion.
Chaired by Andy Irvine of Boldfield this sector will provide a service to all companies as well as providing a network for suppliers.
Education and trusted advice is the key. The ICT committee will provide this through its signposting services and quarterly seminars. We look forward to meeting you at them and hearing of any suggestions you may have. It's not what you know but who you are networked with.
Seminar topics so far have included: Cyber security; Using technology to serve customers; Cut costs and help grow your business; Database security/data protection; Social networking sites, Digital literacy; a guide to email marketing; Search Engine Optimisation; Improving Financial Performace with SAGE, and more recently creating an IT Strategy.
