Cost of living appeal – South Cambridgeshire District Council

December 1, 2022

Can your local business support South Cambridgeshire residents through the cost-of-living crisis?

South Cambridgeshire District Council (SCDC) has launched a Go Fund Me page to help support vulnerable residents who have been hit hardest by the cost-of-living crisis with lower cost options to keep warm and cook. This fundraising campaign is part of a wide range of support for residents, worth almost £400,000, being put in place by SCDC.

The Council hopes around 400 people will be supported with free electric blankets and slow cookers but even more can be done if donations are received. Any businesses who could help supply these items should contact duty.communities@scambs.gov.uk. Slow cookers should be at least 3.5L and SCDC are looking for heated throws that can be used around the house rather than just under a bed.

Councillors recognise that many in the district are struggling at the moment but believe any donations will go a long way to improve the lives of those most in need of help this winter.

Financial donations can be made at www.gofundme.com/SCDCcostofliving.
