The global association of independent accounting firms (IAPA) and the international network of independent law firms (Avrio Advocati) welcomed hundreds of delegates from across the globe at a joint conference in Cambridge last week.

Members of Avrio Advocati and IAPA came together for a landmark joint conference in the historic City of Cambridge. The event spanned across three days with thought-provoking sessions, high-level networking, and social activities supported by local firms, Price Bailey and Irwin Mitchell.
Held from 25th to 27th June 2025, the conference began with welcome drinks and a relaxed BBQ at Price Bailey’s Cambridge office, before delegates gathered at iconic venues including St John’s College and Jesus College for a packed programme of presentations and discussions.

The event also featured a range of quintessentially Cambridgeshire social activities for the international delegates, including a chauffeured punting tour through Cambridge’s scenic waterways and a Gala Dinner with racing at Newmarket’s July Racecourse.

Commenting before the event, Bruce Bowden, Chair of Avrio Advocati, said: “We are absolutely delighted to team up with IAPA for this landmark joint conference. Cambridge offers the perfect backdrop for international learning, collaboration and connection – and it’s wonderful to be welcoming so many delegates to what promises to be a truly memorable few days.”

Tomasz Wikliński, Chair of IAPA, commented: “Sharing knowledge of global collaborations which effect the Law and the Accountancy profession in such a wonderful city such as Cambridge is an honour. We look forward to learning together and sharing that knowledge with our clients, to give a better service in the future.”

Martin Clapson, CEO of IAPA and Managing Director of Price Bailey, also shared his enthusiasm: “It is a real privilege to be joining forces with Avrio Advocati in Cambridge – a city that represents innovation, excellence and partnership. We are looking forward to insightful discussions, presentations from experts in their field and a sharing of knowledge between our global associations.”

Bryan Bletso, of Irwin Mitchell and longstanding supporter of both associations, added: “This conference is the result of two strong alliances coming together with a shared commitment to excellence and community. It’s a great pleasure to welcome such a diverse and international group to our home city.”

With delegates flying in from across Europe, the Americas, Asia and beyond, the IAPA AVRIO June Conference 2025 marked a milestone event – and a celebration of what can be achieved when like-minded professionals come together.
