Our Company
Cambridge IT Security is a cyber security company specialising in a wide range of security services. Being just a couple of years old, with currently four full-time employees, it already has grown to have two physical offices, one in St Neots and the other in Bury St Edmunds. Its purpose is to help our clients shield its business from cyber threats and data breaches. As the security division of a group of IT services companies, we work with many local companies to build the right cyber security strategies and systems to protect their businesses.
Our founders (Philip & Alex pictured below) of Cambridge IT Security saw that security was a real struggle for businesses as the majority were not adequately protected. They have seen the battles that businesses have with time, resources and/or money that hinder them from investing in security. This hindrance makes them vulnerable and acceptable to cyber attacks. So, Cambridge IT Security was founded to offer expert and affordable security to our UK businesses. Simon (pictured at the end) joined the company later on as Technical Director and also has been managing and driving the business.
We operate as a business through taking time to understand not just the technical requirements but also the uniqueness of our client’s business. This consultative approach allows us to craft security solutions that align perfectly with our clients’ needs and capabilities. The service we offer our clients is to always go above and beyond. We regularly conduct preventative security checks for our clients, often identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities before they become issues. This proactive approach has helped our business thrive in the last year because clients keep referring us and returning for more business.

Our Awards, Achievements and Qualifications
As soon as Cambridge IT Security was established, we have strived to achieve the highest qualifications as possible.
[H3] Cyber Essentials Certification
In 2024 we achieved our Cyber Essentials Plus certification, then in the beginning of 2025 we became a Certification Body, which means we can now issue Cyber Essentials Plus accreditations. This makes us the only company in Cambridge who can do that, something that we are proud of being a young tech startup.
The Eastern Cyber Resilience Centre
We are also a Cyber Essentials Partner (CEP) with the Eastern Cyber Resilience Centre (ECRC), which is an important recognition and milestone for the company. The ECRC is a police-led, non-profit that works closely with regional forces to help organisations stay ahead of cyber threats. Through this partnership, we’re ideally positioned to help organisations across our region achieve Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications, providing expert guidance and support to strengthen businesses security and resilience.
IASME Cyber Assurance Level 2 Certification
We are proud to hold the IASME Cyber Assurance Level 2 certification, a recognised standard that demonstrates our commitment to securing data and enhancing our cyber security. This certification requires a valid Cyber Essentials certification and involves a thorough evaluation of 4 key cyber security themes: Identify and Classify, Detect and Deter, Protect, Respond and Recover.
As an authorised IASME Certification Body, we are qualified to deliver both Level 1 (self-assessment) and Level 2 (independent audit) Cyber Assurance certifications. We help businesses strengthen their cyber security, build trust with customers and suppliers, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Awards
We are currently finalists in 2 categories in the Cambridgeshire SME Business Awards 2025 for Best New Business and Business of the Year less than 50 Employees. In addition, we are also finalists in the Bedfordshire SME Business Awards 2025 for Business of the Year less than 50 Employees. The award nights are on Tuesday 3rd June and 19th June, so we are eagerly awaiting those evenings and hopefully will return with some awards!
