Stagecoach East Gets Ready To Help Young People Travel To University Open Days

July 4, 2025

  • Bus operator proud to transport young people around the city
  • Responsibility to make things easy for customers
  • Services may be busier than usual on Open Days, so plan accordingly

Stagecoach East is getting set to help young people get to the Cambridge University Open Days on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 July.

Young people and their families will be coming to the city to find out more about attending one of the most prestigious seats of learning in the world. The Open Days are designed for prospective applicants from Year 12 (or equivalent) and mature applicants (aged 21 or over), along with their parents and supporters.

Many will use the bus, as an easy and great value, way to get around. David Boden, Commercial Director of Stagecoach East, encouraged local bus users to be aware that services might be busier than usual.

He said: “It is a real honour to be helping so many wonderful young people to find their way around our great city and region. We always want to plan for the future, and this means that, each year, we work very hard to provide the best transport services for everyone.

“We know that transport is an important part of coming to university, and we take our responsibilities very seriously to make things easy for our customers – especially those who are new to the region.

“I will say that, with so many people coming to the city, services may be busier than usual, so we would ask our customer to please be careful to plan your journey. The Park & Rides – particularly Trumpington – can be very popular, so if you have the opportunity to use other services over those two days, that might be an option to consider.”
