We are pleased to announce our speakers for the evening:

Sam Caldbeck – Regeneration Programme Manager, Huntingdonshire District Council –

Providing an overview and update of the Market Town Programme at Huntingdonshire District Council.

Sam manages the Market Town Programme at Huntingdonshire District Council, with specific responsibility for Place shaping initiatives and investment. The team is delivering a capital programme of over £20 million, which is being used to fund major projects such as the refurbishment and relaunch of the Priory Centre as an improved cultural attraction in St Neots, a renewed Market Square in the town, which will improve the overall offer to residents, businesses and visitors. We are also working to deliver Digital Information Screens across the four main market towns. The screens will be used to promote local heritage, visitor amenities and businesses. We have also just completed delivery of a Shop Front Grant scheme, with over 30 local businesses benefitting from £250,000 in investment to improve their shop units. Finally, we will also be developing a project in Ramsey town centre over the next 18 months, which will see major improvements to the public realm, car parking and the potential development of ‘shop in a box’ units, which will be designed to encourage new retail start ups.

Alex Hughes – Founder & Chair, Inspire 2 Ignite CIC

Leading a session on how local businesses can attract and engage young talent, sharing valuable insights on Inspire 2 Ignite’s impact within the local business community.

Becoming a father at the age of 14, Alex was often told he wouldn’t amount to much. This early introduction to responsibility planted the seeds for his deep-rooted commitment to social change and youth empowerment. Under his leadership Inspire 2 Ignite has become a beacon of positive transformation, providing a nurturing environment where young people can learn, innovate, and thrive. Alex’s visionary leadership has not only transformed countless lives but also revitalised community interactions, thereby making a lasting impact on the area’s socio-economic landscape. Through his work, Alex continues to demonstrate that with the right guidance and opportunities, every young person can overcome their challenges and contribute positively to society.
