Inspire Education Group’s £13.7m Centre for Green Technology (CGT) at Peterborough College is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility designed to support the region’s transition to a low-carbon economy and strengthen the future workforce across green and technical industries.
Developed as a cornerstone of IEG’s Be Bold, Be Brave, Be Exceptional 2024-2030 strategy, the CGT reflects the Group’s commitment to anticipating future job markets and continuously evolving its curriculum to meet the needs of employers. The centre brings together education, industry and innovation to align skills development directly with regional economic priorities.
The CGT delivers industry-aligned training in areas including renewable technologies, EV maintenance and infrastructure, low-carbon construction, electrical and plumbing systems, net-zero skills and sustainable engineering. Working closely with industry partners, the facility supports students, apprentices and professionals – creating a strong pipeline of future-ready talent for local businesses.

Daniel Harris, General Manager, GCE Hire Fleet. Daniel will highlight the importance of apprenticeships, T-Levels and meaningful work experience in developing local talent, and how partnerships with education providers like Inspire Education Group strengthen skills pipelines. Drawing on their experience as a local employer, they will share insights on preparing young people for evolving industries, including those shaped by green technologies.
