We’re proud to announce the winners of our Global Awards 2017, designed to recognise members that really stand out from the crowd on the international stage.
Award for International Service Provider
WINNER: Prestige Business Travel
In 2016 Prestige Business Travel won a bid to work with DHL to co-ordinate a PR adventure and support Ford in driving 24 Kuga show vehicles and crew from Athens to Cape Town. The challenge was to provide the logistic backbone to make it happen and ensure that Europe’s press teams shared the story across the world. The input from Prestige achieved enormous coverage from Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.
Award for Achievement in New Markets
WINNER: PCME Ltd and Diamond Engineering Ltd
PCME is one of the first European manufacturers to be granted a Chinese EPA certificate for a Wet stack particulate monitor and they have been successful in commercialising this innovative product in the Chines marketplace. They were also achieved the Queen’s Award for Innovation 2017. Their revenues have grown strongly over the last two years and as they mature and continue to export to China this year will see them innovate further to maintain and grow their market share.
Diamond Engineering has developed new relationships with clients and identified a segment in the Chinese market whose needs were more in sync with their strengths and who they are better suited to add value to. They concluded that maximising the value they could add to their new client portfolio was key to creating differentiation against competitors and securing their future.
Award for Overall Growth in Exports
WINNER: Kinesis Ltd
Kinesis’ entry demonstrated excellent growth in export sales over the last 12 months, more than doubling the previous year with a year-on-year growth of 72 per cent!
Their export growth strategy is to expand the line of products and services developed and manufactured and they continue to invest in building strong relationships with their core suppliers on a global basis.
New Exporter of the Year
WINNER: Ward Trade Marks Ltd
Ward Trade Marks are trade mark and brand protection specialists, assisting and protecting companies trading overseas by getting their trade marks registered in the relevant export territory and preventing potentially catastrophic problems with disputes in a foreign country. Ward Trade Marks export their services worldwide, with 34 per cent of their turnover from overseas income, and have set themselves the admirable target of increasing their export service revenue by 50 per cent for the 2017/18 financial year.
Winners were announced at the Global Leaders Lunch which took place at Downing College, Cambridge on Friday 2 June.
