Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce Shares LSIP Annual Progress Report

July 2, 2025

Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce is proud to publish the 2025 Annual Progress Report for the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP). This is our second yearly update on how employers, educators, and regional partners are tackling skills gaps and supporting sustainable growth.

Key achievements from the 2025 report include:

  • Over £2.5 million invested through the Local Skills Improvement Fund, enabling new courses, upgraded training facilities, and stronger employer–education partnerships.

  • Life Sciences and Agri-Tech remain areas of high demand, while Digital and Advanced Manufacturing continue to face recruitment pressures.

  • Economic inactivity linked to long-term health conditions is becoming a major barrier to labour market growth.

  • Innovation in action: Case studies highlight virtual-reality careers guidance, sector-specific bootcamps, and green-skills hubs driving real impact on the ground.
