Peterborough Cathedral require volunteers to help run the ‘Gaia-Earth’ exhibition

Thursday 27 June 2019

‘Gaia’, a seven metre, 3D artwork of the earth's surface, will be on display at Peterborough Cathedral from Monday 19 August until Sunday 15 September and the Cathedral is looking for volunteers to help look after visitors.

The artwork has been conceived by Luke Jerram, who designed the stunning 'Museum of the Moon', which attracted 40,000 visitors when it went on display in the Cathedral for 10 days in October 2018. The Cathedral is anticipating a significant number of visitors to come through its doors during the exhibition, and a team of volunteers is therefore being recruited to ensure that visitors have a great time whilst they visit.

Roles for volunteers include Exhibition Assistants and Pop-up Shop Volunteers. Training will be provided, and full details of these roles are available from our website:

“We need lots of volunteers to help make this event as accessible to the public as possible, and another huge success for the Cathedral,” said Ed Bailey, Volunteer Coordinator. “Any support you can offer is much appreciated.”
