This workshop is made up of two parts: how to procure public sector contracts and how to write successful funding bids.

Part one will help to demystify procurement from a bidder’s point of view by explaining why and how local Councils do the things they do when they want to do business with others. Delivered by Gus De Silva, Cambridgeshire County Council, this session will look at:
• Procurement from a bidder’s point of view
• Why Councils do the things they do
• Tackling a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ)
• Tendering and quoting
• Tips for winning bids.

Part two will start to demystify bidding for public sector funding by considering whether bid writing is a science or a game of chance. Delivered by Kevin Taylor, Proactive Training Partnerships, this successful bid writing session will cover:
• Is bid writing a science or a game of chance?
• Understanding what is needed
• Getting the messages and milestones right
• Structuring a bid, delivery plans and financials
• Importance of using the right language.
