Businesses given the opportunity to meet with members of Carillion

Thursday 11 February 2016

Construction companies in Peterborough are being given the opportunity to benefit from a £75 million schools contract awarded to Carillion by Peterborough City Council.

At a special ‘Meet the Buyer’ event taking place next week business owners and directors will discover how the company's supply chain works on a national basis before a series of one-to-one appointments with senior personnel from Carillion’s building supply chain.

Attendees will be invited to register their interest with senior figures within the Carillion building supply chain including Ciaran Considine, Head of Supply Chain South and Midlands, and six dedicated category managers responsible for mechanical and electrical, groundworks, external building and finishes.

The event has been organised by the Construction Sector of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce.

Martin Rayner, Chair of the Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce Construction Sector, said:
“We would encourage all construction-based SMEs to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with Carillion. It is increasingly important that local construction companies are given appropriate opportunities to benefit from Carillion’s extensive schools work programme in Peterborough and we hope that this meet the buyer event will prove to be the starting block for many long-term, working relationships between local businesses and Carillion.”

Kevin Malle, New Projects Development Director for Carillion, said:
“We are very excited to be given the opportunity to build upon our existing relationships with Peterborough’s highly-skilled and experienced construction sector. It is very important to us that we continually develop our local supply chain base here in Peterborough and this event will allow us to engage with local suppliers to the construction industry for opportunities now and in the future.”
