Work to improve the A1 and A47 around Peterborough

Thursday 12 May 2016

Work to improve the A1 and A47 is being done in numerous locations across the space of a fortnight.

Subject to weather conditions, we plan to have completed all of this work before June. We will be working between 8.00pm-6.00am, to minimise disruption. To keep road users at a safe distance from the works, we will need to close the road while we are working. When roads are closed, there will be a clearly signed diversion route in place.

The work being doing is to repair the road surface of the A1 and A47 at the following locations:
On the A1 northbound between junction 17 and Wansford, on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 May
On the A1 southbound between Stamford Interchange (A43) and Wansford Interchange (A47), on Thursday 19 May
On the southbound exit slip road of the A1 at junction 17, on Friday 20 May
On the A47 westbound exit slip road at junction 15, on Monday 23 May
On the A47 eastbound between junction 15 and Hodney Road Roundabout, on Tuesday 24 May
On the A47 westbound between Hodney Road Roundabout and junction 15, and eastbound between junction 15 and Hodney Road Roundabout, on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 May. This will also result in the closures of the northbound and southbound exit slip roads for the A15 at junction 20.

This work may result in slight delays for local road users and through traffic, as well as additional noise in this area while we are working, for which we apologise.

We will do our utmost to complete the works as quickly as possible, avoiding disturbance and keeping noise to a minimum. Once complete, this work will ensure the bridge is safe for drivers and provide a safer road surface to enable smoother journeys.
