Volunteer needed for a one day festival Celebration of Youth Day

Wednesday 10 August 2016

On Saturday 20th August at Peterborough Cathedral Square, young people from across Peterborough will be showcasing their skills and talents at the first YMCA Celebration of Youth Day. They are looking for cheerful volunteers to help run this fantastic event, before and on the day.

YMCA is working in conjunction with Peterborough City Council and other local partners to run a Celebration of Youth Day to provide young people a platform to showcase their skills and talents. The event will be held in Cathedral Square, Cathedral grounds and St Stephen's Church from 10am to 7pm and will feature live music, dance, theatre and a full range of exciting activities.

There will be representatives from every community, ethnic and age group all in one place celebrating youth of our city.

In order for this to take place, we are seeking support from local communities and organisations to help us out by volunteering on the day.

We anticipate around 5000 young people, their friends and family will be coming along on the day to take part in everything we have to offer.

Volunteers activities may include:
- Assisting the stage crew front and back of stage
- Organising the raffle
- Bucket collections
- Helping with the setting up and the cleaning of the zones
