Businesses encouraged to use agents and distributors to extend their market reach overseas

Businesses investigating the potential to sell goods or services outside the UK are being urged to consider using an agent or distributor by Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce.

According to the organisation, which processes over 12,000 documents each year needed by companies to export products overseas, using an agent or distributor could be a really good option to help brands build a strong international market presence.

Fiona Tester, International Trade Manager at Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, said:
“Developing a partnership with an agent or distributor can provide you with specialist knowledge of a particular market, commodity or area and an immediate presence for negotiating contracts in any geographical location. They can also be used to find and introduce customers to the business and to purchase goods or services on behalf of the business.

“It can be a really cost-effective and often integral component for companies that successfully break into new markets and that’s why we’re holding a full-day session in Peterborough to help local companies fully understand the advantages, processes and potential pitfalls to be avoided.”

The full-day Agents and Distributors session takes place on Monday 5 December at the Chamber offices on Minerva Business Park in Peterborough.
