Cambridgeshire businesses deliver for Britain

Tuesday 6 June 2017

Businesses in Cambridgeshire using the Chamber export documentation service should be congratulated for how well they are performing and supporting the UK economy.

Exports in excess of £70m in value have been made outside of Europe in the last two months alone. This is a 29 per cent increase on the same two months last year.

Cambridgeshire exporters were also acknowledged at the recent Chambers Global Leaders lunch.

The winners of the Cambridgeshire Chambers Global Awards 2017 were presented with their awards at a special lunch that took place at Downing College, Cambridge on Friday 2 June.

John Bridge OBE DL, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, commented: “This year saw a record number of entries with high quality finalists. Everyone that entered should be congratulated and they are all very worthy winners. In one category the judges were unable to distinguish between two of the finalists so two awards were made.”

Guest of honour Anne-Marie Martin, Chief Executive of the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe, presented the awards to the winners and gave an inspiring talk on barrier free international trade.

Congratulations to our winners Prestige Business Travel who won the Award for International Service Provider, Kinesis who won the Award for Overall Growth in Exports for the second year, Ward Trade Marks, winner of the Award for New Exporter of the Year and Diamond Engineering Ltd and PCME Ltd who both won the Award for Achievement in New Markets.

Iwona Lebiedowicz, Managing Director of PAB Language Centres and award sponsor, expressed her gratitude of the Global Leaders lunch event and commented: “Everyone from PAB truly appreciated it and it was a great way to celebrate successful businesses from Cambridgeshire. All the speakers were very inspiring and it was interesting to learn some successful stories and a great pleasure to congratulate the winners. I truly believe that the energy and excitement of the day will generate fresh ways of thinking about what’s possible in exporting.”
