Businesses in Peterborough are preparing for the city’s eighteenth annual B2B exhibition

Monday 16 October 2017

Over 70 exhibitors have already confirmed they’ll be attending the annual event to showcase their products and services and with an expected 600 visitors through the doors on the day, there will be unlimited opportunities to make new business connections.

The day will kick-start with a presentation from University Centre Peterborough which is discussing how local companies can get involved with plans for Peterborough’s University with members of the Opportunity Peterborough Bondholder Network before the exhibition is officially opened by Gillian Beasley, Chief Executive of Peterborough City Council and the Mayor of Peterborough Cllr John Fox.

Companies from across the region are pre-registering to meet with exhibitors and take advantage of the extensive programme of free seminars taking place throughout the day. They include a thorough update on the General Data Protection Regulations from OlsenMetrix, details of a newly launched and government approved cyber-security framework for small businesses from the Police and Crime Commissioner and Redpalm Technology Services, as well as a best practice seminar from creative design and marketing agency, TinFish Creative, on making the most of your brand and website to impress customers and competitors.

Virtual Reality experiences will also be on offer from TinFish Creative, and their VAR team, who are using the latest developments to engage people of all ages into games, training programmes, team building and much more.

Sponsors Peterborough City Council will also be running an interactive workshop on the Healthy Peterborough initiative which aims to help companies improve the health and wellbeing of their staff free of charge.

The Peterborough B2B Exhibition is an annual event organised by Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce and Opportunity Peterborough, sponsored by Peterborough City Council and Peterborough Regional College and supported by OlsenMetrix Marketing, KingsGate Conference Centre and KallKwik Peterborough.

John Bridge OBE DL, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, said: “This is a great opportunity for companies to engage with the wider business community and create exciting new prospects for future growth.

“The next quarterly economic survey from the British Chambers of Commerce is due out imminently and previous results for this year have shown that in spite of a little cooling in economic activity, companies are still expecting to employ more people and are feeling confident about increasing their turnover.

“The Peterborough B2B Exhibition is the city’s most established B2B event and there is every indication that this year’s event will be the most successful and productive to date for all who attend.”

The all-day event takes place at KingsGate Conference Centre on Wednesday 18 October from 9.00am-4.00pm. Places to attend both the exhibition and free seminars can be booked online at
