King’s Ely Junior students were on top form at the prestigious Independent Schools Golf Association (ISGA) Wellington College Silver Salver competition.

Three members of the King’s Ely Golf Academy were victorious on the day, including Paul Collington, 12, who achieved the best score, winning the Wellington College Silver Salver Team Nett Prize.

Ben Collier, 13, won the Nett Division on the day and Thomas Jackson, 12, claimed second in the Individual Division.

Head of King’s Ely Junior, Richard Whymark, said: “We are delighted that these three members of our Golf Academy combined their talents to secure their win at the Wellington competition. The determined hours invested on the driving range and local courses to develop their skills have undoubtedly contributed to the outstanding success of our team, and we are very proud of their achievements.”

Golf is a popular choice of sport at King’s Ely, and as a school we firmly believe that students of all abilities should enjoy a wide a range of sporting experiences, whilst at the same time making the most of every opportunity to excel.
