Mick George Fly Without Wings

Wednesday 6 June 2018

Fourteen brave employees from local construction business Mick George Ltd took to the skies on Saturday 12 May to face their fears and in turn, raise money for charity.

They were raising as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support, one of the companies chosen charities for 2017/2018.

With the fear of heights, flying, and jumping out of an active aeroplane playing on the minds of the not-so-lucky volunteers, they were given several months to get ‘in the zone’ and most importantly, gather donations to ensure that the jump was all made worthwhile.

Thankfully, all members of the team managed to overcome their anxieties on the day, and all launched themselves out of a plane from an altitude of approximately 13,000 feet from the ground, overlooking the glorious views that Cambridgeshire has to offer.

An amazing £1,505.00 has been raised to date for the exertions, but this is still open for donations to be granted, please visit: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/mglskydive2018.

To date, Mick George Ltd through various fundraising activities and events has managed to raise a commendable £20,000 for its two charities of choice for 2017/2018 – British Heart Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Stuart Costello, Head of Marketing at Mick George Ltd, commented: “A tremendous amount of credit should go to our employees who have off of their own back organised this event. Over the years we have seen some high adrenaline challenges, including walking on glass and over hot coals, but I’d say this is the most extreme.”
