The second Big Tent Ideas Festival will be held on Saturday 8 September at Babraham Hall Research Campus in Cambridge as ‘the first major political festival for all the family to enjoy’.

• Michael Gove MP (Environment Secretary)
• Robert Peston (Political Editor, ITV)
• Penny Mordaunt MP (International Development Secretary)
• Matthew d’Ancona (Columnist, the Guardian and Evening Standard)
• Matthew Taylor (Chief Executive, RSA)
• Rachel Johnson (Journalist, author and TV presenter)
• Liam Halligan (Columnist, Telegraph)
• Trevor Philips OBE (Cofounder, Webber Phillips)
• Dr Ben Goldacre (Author and academic).

Other key family-themed events include:
• Award-winning street food will be served throughout the day along with a Bar
• Come and browse our Festival Stalls or take your chance and book a slot at Speakers’ Corner
• Listen to our soap-box pitches from some of the best-known thinkers in the world
• Sample our very own oratory pod and brush up your speech-making skills with our public speaking workshop
• Learn from our artist-in-residence and try out our very own Banksy art wall.

Eastern region MP and co-chair George Freeman said: “Fed up with politics? Think the big questions are being ignored by political parties locked in civil war? The Big Tent Ideas Festival is for you.

“For anyone working at the university, it’s a unique chance to tell your story to decision makers working at the very highest level. For schools, this is a chance for your students to listen to the best new arguments and contribute themselves. For businesses and entrepreneurs, come and talk to our speakers and let them know the issues you’re facing with Brexit and everything else.

“Cambridge is the engine of British innovation and there is no better place to host a festival of Big Ideas. Join us on 8 September and be part of something special.”

'Fed up with a politics that doesn’t speak for you? The Big Tent Ideas Festival is for us.’ (Stephen Fry)
