Mozartís Requiem and Joseph Haydnís Little Organ Mass to be performed at Peterborough Cathedral on 10 November

Thursday 4 October 2018

Peterborough Cathedral Choir and Youth Choir, the Cathedral Festival Chorus, Peterborough Choral Society and East Anglia Chamber Orchestra are joining forces for a special performance of Mozartís Requiem and Joseph Haydnís Little Organ Mass on Saturday 10 November.

The choirs and orchestra are combining together for the first time, and they will be under the direction of the Cathedralís new Director of Music, Tansy Castledine, who took up the post in September 2018.

Mozartís stirring Requiem was initially composed in 1791, but was completed in the following year by Franz Xaver SŁssmayr following Mozartís death. Haydnís Little Organ Mass was composed in 1775.

The performance will be part of the Cathedralís commemorations to mark the 100th anniversary of the Armistice, as well as being part of Peterborough Cathedralís continuing 900th anniversary programme for 2018.

The concert will begin at 7.30pm, and tickets range from £15.00 to £20.00 (unreserved seating). They are available via or by calling Peterborough Information Centre on 01733 452336.
