Feast on the flavours of the Middle East at Dubai Future Champions Festival at Newmarket Racecourses

Tuesday 9 October 2018

Delicious delights from Dubai will be on offer for all racegoers on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 October as Flavours of Dubai returns to the Dubai Future Champions Festival at Newmarket Racecourses for its third consecutive year.

Flavours of Dubai is a celebration of food and drink from the heart of the Middle East and accompanies two fantastic days of world-class horseracing and fashion. Racegoers will be able to sample a range of savoury and sweet dishes for free in a pop-up tasting area in the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure throughout the two days.

A new addition to Flavours of Dubai for 2018 is Ma’amoul, an ancient Arabic filled pastry recently made famous on Channel 4’s The Great British Bake Off, and which will be accompanied by treats including Arabic Mezze, Shawarma, Gahwa – a spiced Arabic coffee – and Machboos, the fragrant national dish of Bahrain.

Flavours of Dubai is just one of a number of Dubai-themed experiences on offer for racegoers over the two days. Racegoers are also invited into the Dubai marquee next door, where they can jump straight into Dubai in a Virtual Reality experience which showcases the thrill of skydiving off the tallest building in the world, the iconic Burj Khalifa, which has a roof height of 2,717ft (828m).

If that’s not enough, all racegoers have the opportunity to win a holiday to Dubai for two, simply by submitting their details into the prize draw in the Dubai marquee. The prize includes a five-night stay at the five star hotel, Anantara The Palm, for two people; including transfers and two excursions. The lucky winner will be contacted after the final race on Saturday 13 October.

Other entertainment on course over the two days includes Friday’s Autumn Ladies Day, featuring the free-to-enter Style Awards sponsored by The Spa at Bedford Lodge Hotel, where thousands of pounds worth of prizes are up for grabs.

Live music is provided after racing on Friday by The Hares while Dubai Future Champions Festival will close in style on Saturday with Après Racing, Newmarket Racecourses’ official after-party, where Kiss FM DJ Charlie Hedges will entertain the crowd alongside ITV2’s Love Island star, Wes Nelson.

The Dubai Future Champions Festival plays host to world-class horseracing across both days, with Friday’s highlight the Group 1 bet365 Fillies’ Mile, the joint-richest Group 1 two-year-old race in Europe alongside Saturday’s Group 1 feature, the Darley Dewhurst Stakes. Saturday’s other highlight on the track is the Dubai £500,000 Cesarewitch Handicap, the second half of the historic Autumn Double which starts in Cambridgeshire and finishes in Suffolk.

Tickets start from £16.50 if booked in advance, so secure your place today. Why not make your raceday even more special by booking a table in the award-winning Champions Gallery Restaurant? Exquisite fine dining and amazing panoramic views of the track make it the perfect base for your day out.

All Emergency Service, NHS and Armed Forces employees are eligible to redeem up to two complimentary Grandstand & Paddock tickets for either day of Dubai Future Champions Festival. Tickets must be redeemed in advance, are non-transferable and customers must bring a valid form of identification with them on the day.

Students with a valid student card or NUS card on arrival are also welcome free of charge to the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure; and children under the age of 18 are welcome free of charge in all enclosures when accompanied by an adult.
