King’s Ely pupils go all out to celebrate Children in Need 2018

Monday 26 November 2018

Pudsey ears and spotty socks have resulted in King’s Ely raising hundreds of pounds for Children in Need.

Pupils and staff at King’s Ely Acremont and Nursery and King’s Ely Junior grabbed their spottiest and wackiest accessories and went the extra mile to celebrate the annual fundraising campaign on 16 November.

At King’s Ely Acremont and Nursery, a ‘dress down day’ saw the youngest children wearing their pyjamas and the older pupils sporting spotty accessories. Many donned Pudsey ears but there were also some marvellous spotty ties, hats, scarves, headbands, socks and more! The total raised by King’s Ely Acremont and Nursery was £300.

At King’s Ely Junior, students were also invited to wear something spotty with their uniform and there was a cake sale during morning break to top up additional funds. The total raised by King’s Ely Junior was £600, which is being split between Children in Need and one of the school’s chosen charities of the year, Cancer Research UK.

Children in Need is the BBC's UK charity. Since 1980, it has raised over £1,000 million for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. To find out more, go to
