Atkins Gregory celebrates exponential growth in 2018

Thursday 3 January 2019

2018 has been a very successful year for Cambridge-based contract cleaning specialist Atkins Gregory and the team is delighted to be ending the year celebrating a number of prestigious new contracts.

Contracts include a multi-site contract with Ridgeon's, the UK's largest independently owned timber and builders' merchants.

Atkins Gregory Managing Director, Simon Biggs, commented: "We are delighted to be working with Ridgeons to deliver contract office and retail cleaning services to 13 branches across four counties. Like Ridgeons, through years of local service, we know that each area within our region is unique, and we have on-the-ground teams to reflect that and deliver a tailored service to every client and location.

Another multi-site contract win will see Atkins Gregory, alongside its sister company Monthind Clean, deliver cleaning services at firing ranges across the East Anglian region as part of a three-year contract, won through tender, to work with the East Anglia Reserve Forces & Cadets Association (RFCA).

Simon Biggs says: "This is another example of us expanding our remit to meet a client's needs. Donning full personal protective equipment (PPE), local teams, from Norfolk, Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire will visit sites with specialist equipment, including explosion proof vacuum cleaners, to deep-clean kitchens and remove contaminates bi-annually from 40 RFCA sites across the region."

2018 brought other successes for Atkins Gregory with the company being recognised for excellence in the 2018 cleaning industry Golden service Awards. Simon Biggs explains: "We were shortlisted as a finalist in the 2018 Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards for our delivery in the cleanroom environment at Xaar, Huntingdon, and we have since secured an additional contract with the company. Our contract with Xaar Huntingdon began five years ago and, in that time, we have continued to exceed our service delivery, every year. It is a testament to both the company and our outstanding team of cleaning professionals, that we have now expanded our delivery to Xaar to incorporate their other facility on the science park."

It's not been all work and no play at Atkins Gregory this year, though. The company sponsored Buckfest Music Festival and continued to raise money for Atkins Gregory's corporate charity of the year, the Arthur Rank Hospice. This charity supports people in Cambridgeshire who are living with life-limiting illness and those who need end-of-life care. Fund-raising events included father and daughter team, Atkins Gregory's Managing Director Simon Biggs and Marketing Executive Lois Biggs taking on the Bubble Rush 5k charity challenge at Huntingdon's Riverside Park, joining more than 900 runners taking part in the foamy challenge despite the sweltering heat hitting almost 30 degrees.

Simon says: "We had great fun running through the foam, and I'm proud to say we completed the 5k course in 37 minutes. We were particularly delighted to raise 585 for the hospice.

"2018 has been a very successful year for Atkins Gregory, on many levels, and we plan to continue that success and company growth into 2019 and beyond."
