New Year and New Role for New Business in the Midlands

January 15, 2021

The start of 2021 sees the appointment of Sarah Williams as a new Business Development Partner for top UK accountancy practice, Streets Chartered Accountants.

Sarah joins Streets as an accomplished business development professional having over 20 years’ experience in new business generation, gained from working in both B2C but more recently B2B and the professional services sector. In particular she is well versed in the work of accountancy professionals delivering accountancy, audit, tax and business advisory services and their specific relevance for a diverse range of businesses across a number of sectors.

In her new role with Streets, Sarah will have responsibility for the development of new client business for the firm across the Midlands, both East and West, an area which enables her to capitalise on her regional knowledge of established business and intermediary contacts.

Commenting on her new role Sarah said: “I am delighted and excited to be joining Streets. The firm is widely respected for its progressive and innovative approach to supporting and looking after the needs of its clients.

“The Partners and wider team have really responded well to the pandemic ensuring clients have received practical, proactive and commercial advice. This, along with its continued vision for introducing additional and complimentary services to support clients, I believe is welcome by many business owners and company directors who seek much broader support and assurance.

“Certainly, the provision of its own commercial legal services practice, Streets Law, along with its international reach through its own global association, SBC Global Alliance, and a dedicated personal financial planning arm provide a really strong offering for both existing and new clients. This is aside to its robust core service provision around audit, accountancy, tax and business advisory.

“I look forward to promoting the firm’s breadth of services and capabilities especially to potential new clients who may be looking for something different or a fresh approach.”

When asked about what Sarah’s appointment means to Streets, Paul Tutin, Chairman and Managing Partner, said: “We are exceptionally fortunate in recruiting Sarah. She will be a great asset and additional member of our practice wide business development team. In particular, she brings to the role a real appreciation and understanding around new business development in the professional services sector and accountancy practices specifically.

“In addition, she has insight and appreciation of the more technical work of the practice, including specialist tax work, along with strong commercial acumen and understanding of the needs and challenges of businesses. This is also complimented by more specific industry and sector knowledge ranging from engineering and construction to charities and education.

“With the firm’s growing client base of businesses trading internationally and subsidiaries with overseas parents, she will be able to promote and support our work in this area. Her experience of supporting clients in raising finance or financially restructuring we see has a real benefit, especially in the current climate, and one which will see her draw on her established but also future relationships with funders and lenders alike.

“Certainly, the pandemic is creating many challenges for businesses, often with those seeking advice and support not knowing where to turn, or left feeling they are not getting the support they need.  Having Sarah in her role we are sure provides a great opportunity for Streets as a firm to reach out and support such businesses large or small.”
