Cambridgeshire bus operator, Stagecoach East, is raising funds to support the essential work done by local domestic-violence charities, as it asks its colleagues for their honest feedback on how the operation can improve still further.
Stagecoach East will donate £2 to local domestic-violence charities for each colleague who answers its annual ‘Tell Me’ survey. Tell Me gives Stagecoach’s colleagues, across the country, the opportunity to express their opinions in complete confidence, so the operator can develop and build on their views.
The news comes just days after Stagecoach East celebrated the first anniversary of its award-winning partnership with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Police Authority, and the Cambridge and Peterborough Rape Crisis Centre to join the Businesses Against Abuse (BAA) scheme.
Under the scheme, if a driver recognises that a women or girl may be in fear of abuse on the street, they are authorised to pull over and ask if they need help and then take her to a safe place on route, if necessary.
Darren Roe, Managing Director of Stagecoach East, said: “Tell Me is a hugely important part of our year – it is an opportunity for our colleagues to confidentially tell us exactly what they think, and we build on their insights throughout the year.
“We really wanted to help some of the smaller, local domestic-violence charities, who really need support, and this seemed the perfect way to do it. This way, our customers get to benefit, both from the further improvements that will no doubt come from our colleague’s feedback, but, potentially, also from the work done by these important, local charities.”
