Yesterday, the Chamber Skills Team, represented by Nick Frank, joined Christopher Christodoulou from the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) for a joint visit to Dragonheart Homes.
The meeting, hosted by Jason Bassett, Operations Director at Dragonheart Homes, provided an insightful look into the work of Dragonheart, a B Corp certified modular home manufacturer with a mission to deliver sustainable, zero carbon homes for local authorities, the NHS, and the homeless sector.
During the visit, Nick and Christopher toured Dragonheart’s modular factory, gaining a first-hand understanding of its operations and exploring the company’s current and future skills and training needs.
One of the standout initiatives discussed was Dragonheart’s Prisoners Building Homes programme, which offers accredited NVQ and CSCS training alongside real employment opportunities to individuals on day release from prison. This socially impactful approach not only helps rehabilitate participants but also addresses skills shortages in the construction sector.
“It is inspiring to see a business combining innovation, sustainability, and social value in such a tangible way,” said Nick Frank. “Working together with CPCA, we aim to help Dragonheart access the skills and training support they need to continue making a difference.”
