Cambridge-based social enterprise Form the Future CIC has announced the appointment of Shaun Grady, Chair of AstraZeneca UK, and Professor Andy Neely OBE, Professor of Manufacturing and previously Senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Enterprise and Business Relations at the University of Cambridge, as new Non-Executive Directors.

The appointments strengthen Form the Future’s strategic leadership as it scales its impact across the Oxford–Cambridge Growth Corridor and beyond.

“Form the Future is entering an ambitious new phase of growth, building partnerships across education, business and policy to prepare young people for the jobs of the future,” said Anne Bailey, CEO and Co-Founder. “Shaun and Andy’s experience will help us connect local talent to national priorities in skills, innovation and productivity.”

Form the Future delivers programmes that link education and employment, tackling skills gaps and supporting inclusive economic growth. Its work ranges from employer-led STEM engagement and mentoring to large-scale careers hubs and Youth Guarantee pilots designed to reduce youth unemployment.

“Helping young people see a place for themselves in the innovation economy is vital for regional and national prosperity,” said Professor Neely. “I’m looking forward to contributing to that mission.”

Shaun Grady, Chair AstraZeneca UK, said, “Supporting the next generation as they navigate and contribute to this dynamic ecosystem is something I care about deeply. I am therefore delighted to join the Board of Form the Future. Their mission to connect young talent with real-world pathways is essential for our community’s long-term success, and I look forward to helping create those vital links with the life sciences industry.”

“Shaun and Andy both bring a wealth of experience to the board and have shown a clear track record and passion for the ecosystem on multiple levels. We look forward to working with our new board members to help create runways for young people into careers they will love,” said Prashant Shah, Chair of Form the Future.
