Vic Annells took up his appointment as Executive Director of Mansion House & the Central Criminal Court in September 2017, coming directly from his role as a Diplomat working for the British Embassy in Riyadh. His remit involves supporting and advising The Lord Mayor of the City of London to serve as the global ambassador for the UK-based financial and professional services industry. He also manages the UK’s leading criminal court, known as the Old Bailey.
Beginning his career as a postman for Royal Mail, Vic has since gained international experience working in Africa, the Middle East and Europe for both the public and private sectors, in addition to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and Department for International Trade. Prior to his appointment as Executive Director, Vic worked for the Department for International Trade as the Director responsible for Saudi Arabia. Before this, he worked as the HM Consul General and Director General of UKTI in Milan.
Vic was born in North London and has homes in both Romford, Essex, and Cambridge. He is married to Barbara Annells and has two boys, both of whom live in Chester. He holds a master’s degree in International Relations from Cambridge, graduating in 2012.
