Deadline for applications: 21 September 2020

We are bringing back our popular pitching-and-investment day for cleantech start-ups in a new online format this November. Pitch your ideas to an audience of cleantech investors at Cambridge Cleantech & Oxfordshire Greentech’s highly anticipated pitching and investment event, Cleantech Venture Week, to be held in a digital format from 23-26 November 2020.

Cleantech Venture Day has been a trailblazing event for the cleantech community since its first run in Finland in 2006. Over the past 14 years, over 250 companies have pitched at Cleantech Venture Days and as much as 650 million euros invested as a result.

Cambridge Cleantech has been running Cleantech Venture Day in the UK since 2017, and this time, we are partnering with Oxfordshire Greentech to launch the first digital edition.

“The pandemic has created a challenging environment for climate positive start-ups to raise funding, but we know we have no time to wait to bring these innovative ideas into fruition – we need solutions today. I am excited to host Cleantech Venture Week in a digital format, building on our past successes and creating ways for investors and innovators to engage in new ways,” said Martin Garratt, CEO of Cambridge Cleantech.

“We are proud to partner with Cambridge Cleantech to organise Cleantech Venture Week. We had a number of Oxfordshire Greentech companies pitch at the last event in February, a testimony to the quality and investment-readiness of companies in our network. We look forward to a week of excellent pitches and networking,” said Nicole Lazarus, Director of Oxfordshire Greentech.

The last Cleantech Venture Day held in February 2020 was attended from stalwarts in sustainable impact investment including Engie, Carbon Trust Ventures, Sustainable Ventures and Grid.vc. We received over a100 applications from around the world and the top investment-ready cleantech companies were invited to pitch.

We also successfully introduced cleantech SMEs to four multinational corporates, Schneider Electric, Lafarge Holcim, Capgemini and Bouygues in a Meet the Buyer event held at the Residence de France, in Kensington Palace Gardens in London.

Here is what Oxwash, one of the companies who pitched successfully in February, had to say: “Pitching at Cleantech Venture Day was an invaluable experience and allowed us to connect with some of the biggest investors in the greentech sector. Cambridge Cleantech are a brilliant organisation and through their introduction we were represented by the Cambridge MBA team in the MIINT competition, winning second place and securing 25K of investment from a US impact fund. I wish all success to this year’s cohort and can confidently say that Cleantech Venture Day will open doors for you in the future!” said Tom de Wilton, COO of Oxwash.

This event is a fantastic opportunity for cleantech SMEs and businesses seeking to secure funding, as well as for experienced fund managers, business angels and corporate investors eager to invest in disruptive climate-positive technologies.
