Early-bird tickets are available for EACH’s 2024 events, including a new Lego Walk and Bubble Rush, the Norwich Abseil and Pier 2 Pier treks

January 3, 2024

Fearless fundraisers are being urged to put their best foot forward and snap up early-bird tickets for an exciting new Lego Walk challenge.

The toe-curling trail, featuring more than 10,000 bricks, is among seven major events on the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) calendar. It is also one of two new fundraisers this year, with the other being an eagerly-anticipated Newmarket Bubble Rush.

The Norwich Abseil is back for the first time in three years, while popular Pier 2 Pier walks in Suffolk and Norfolk and The Piglet Junior Hog are returning in 2024. All seven events are now on the EACH website and early-bird tickets, offering heavily discounted prices, are available until 31 January.

“We couldn’t be happier with our amazing, diverse and fun-packed line-up for this year,” said EACH Events Manager Becky Redbond. “There’s something for everyone, including those with an eye for a quirky challenge or head for heights.

“Others will hopefully be pulling on their walking boots for our Pier 2 Pier events, while the bubble rushes are always a hit. We’re already looking forward to some foam-filled fun in Newmarket, in addition to our popular one in Norwich. The Lego Walk is going to be especially memorable. It’s new and a challenge with a difference, as anyone who has accidentally stood on one of the bricks will testify!”

EACH’s events calendar kicks off with the Norwich Abseil – a nerve-jangling 45ft descent of The Forum – on 24 March.

The Suffolk Pier 2 Pier, which is a 16-mile trek from Lowestoft to Southwold, follows on 11 May, before the Norwich Bubble Rush, at the Norfolk Showground, on 26 May.

The 32-mile Norfolk Pier 2 Pier, from Cromer to Great Yarmouth, is scheduled for 22 June, while the big two dates in July are the Newmarket Bubble Rush, on the 7 July, and The Piglet Junior Hog – a family-friendly, muddy obstacle course – near Woodbridge on the 14 July.

The Lego Walk, which is sure to prove popular, is taking place at EACH’s Milton base, near Cambridge, on 29 September.

The early-bird ticket prices are £12.50 for adults (aged 16+) and £8.50 for those aged five to 15. Each walker is asked to raise a minimum sponsorship of £50.00.

“My advice would be to get in quick, especially with the early-bird deadline in mind,” added Becky. “As well as being enormous fun, these events are a vital source of fundraising income, allowing us to continue our important work supporting families and caring for children across East Anglia.

“By signing up, people are directly making a difference. Last year’s Norwich Bubble Rush, for example, was enjoyed by more than 2,500 people and raised more than £80,000. The 2023 Suffolk Pier 2 Pier walk raised more than £50,000 and the Norfolk version over £40,000. These are incredible figures and we’re hoping for more record-breaking success in the months ahead.”
