Free Brexit advice events in Cambridge covering Import & Export and EU Settlement and new immigration rules

February 28, 2020

Brexit4Business will be delivering two free Brexit advice workshops next week at the Allia Future Business Centre in Cambridge. The workshops are for anyone who is looking to gain valuable insight on preparing their business for Brexit. Each workshop will provide delegates with practical guidance on key topics relating to Import and Export, EU Settlement status and the latest rules on immigration.

The Import and Export Workshop will take place on Wednesday 18 March from 9.30am until 12.30pm, and the EU Settlement Workshop will take place later on the same day from 1.30pm until 3.30pm. The workshops are entirely free to attend and delegates may attend one or both workshops.

Brexit4Business is an advisory service set-up by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority dedicated to helping local businesses navigate Brexit.

The Import and Export Workshop will last for three hours and will provide detailed information on how a UK business can prepare to import and export following Brexit, including exporting and importing within the EU; global trade following Brexit; export finance and insurance; import and export documentation; export licences and declarations; how to develop an import strategy; trade tariffs; and duties.

The EU Settlement Workshop will provide an insight into the impact of Brexit on businesses and their employees. It will include information on right to work in the UK; EEA/Swiss v non-EEA workers schemes; the skills-based immigration system; and the EU Settlement scheme.

These workshops are open to representatives from any business in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough areas that currently imports or exports or intends to in the future; and/or employs workers from the EU or rest of the world.  Employees impacted by the new immigration system are also welcomed to attend.

Senior business advisor at Brexit4Business Rich Olsen said: “Our Brexit workshops aim to give you an in-depth insight into how you and your business can prepare for Britain leaving the EU.

“Each event will provide a comprehensive look into the chosen topic, explaining current legislation, the potential impact Brexit will have and what steps businesses should take to prepare. The events take the form of workshop sessions, offering attendees the chance to develop their own knowledge and get answers to their questions.

“Feedback from previous events has been overwhelmingly positive. A delegate from our recent event in Peterborough was impressed with the offer of free support, particularly the open, honest and helpful approach to questions, tips and signposting for further information.”

For those interested in attending these popular and free workshops, please be aware that spaces are limited and you are encouraged to register at the earliest opportunity at: www.brexit4business.co.uk/events/  or email workshops@brexit4business.co.uk

Delegates can also book a free one-to-one session with a specialist advisor, for a more tailored insight, relevant to their own business.  Find out more about this when you attend the workshop or by visiting the website: brexit4business.co.uk/advice/
