Garden House Cambridge launch Sunday Roasts

From 30 January Garden House, the beautiful restaurant within Graduate Cambridge, nestled on the banks of the River Cam, will launch their new Sunday Roasts. Devised by Executive Chef Adam Wood, the new menu will focus on locally sourced seasonal produce, largely cooked over open flames, for a contemporary yet familiar take on a traditional roast.

Set in the heart of one of Britain’s best loved historic cities, Garden House will provide the perfect spot to while away Sunday afternoons, whilst Garden Bar, at the centre of the hotel, will provide aperitifs and cosy corners for post lunch drinks. For warmer months, guests can also enjoy the lawn and terrace, which sprawl onto the river bank, perfect for al fresco drinking and dining when the sun shines.

Snacks to begin will include Garden House malted grain sourdough bread and bungay cultured butter, with optional goat’s curd and confit garlic dip, Pickled mussels, Saucisson and grilled Scottish langoustine with aioli. The menu will then offer two courses for £29.00 or three for £35.00, with dishes influenced by local produce which is available on the day.

Guests could expect starters of Jerusalem artichoke soup with slow cooked egg and shaved chestnut, Pork and prune terrine, Marinated beetroot with puntarella and walnut salad and Grilled purple sprouting broccoli and black olive amongst the selection. With seasonality in mind, a choice of four mains could comprise Roast beef rump with grilled bone marrow, stuffed Yorkshire pudding, braised black cabbage, triple cooked roast potatoes and horseradish, Roast Cornish cod with braised black cabbage, new seasons garlic, mussels and potato, or Pot roast celeriac with stuffed Yorkshire pudding, braised black cabbage, roast potatoes and horseradish. For dessert there will be Garden House’s signature ‘Cambridge Burnt Cream Tart’ alongside bread and butter pudding, Chocolate fondant, Apple and mezcal sorbet and a cheese course of Baron Bigod with Garden House honeycomb, harvested from the restaurant’s own on site beehive.
