The Cambridge announce support for the Women in Finance Charter

May 27, 2020

The Cambridge have formalised their commitment to a gender diverse and inclusive workplace by signing up to the Women in Finance Charter.

The Women in Finance Charter, which was developed in 2016 following a report issued by HM Treasury on increasing opportunities for women in the financial services sector, commits financial services firms to support the progression of women into senior management roles.

Through becoming an official signatory on the Women in Finance Charter, The Cambridge have formally committed to having one senior executive team member accountable for gender diversity, setting internal targets for gender diversity in senior management and publishing progress against these targets annually.

Lucy Crumplin, Interim Chief Operating Officer at The Cambridge comments on this positive step: “Although becoming a signatory of the Women in Finance Charter is a new development for the Society, our pursuit of gender equality certainly isn’t. Our journey towards a gender balanced team has been happening for a number of years, and we’re proud to have a workforce that’s already 65% female. Within our senior management team 60 per cent are women, and with a recent addition to our Executive team we are pleased to confirm that 50 per cent of our Executive Directors are female too.”
