Treat yourself to Afternoon Tea at Cambridge Hospice Bistro

May 2, 2024

Take a minute to imagine a wonderful afternoon spent with your favourite people or person.

As you relax in the bright and spacious Bistro at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, or (if the weather allows) outside on the pretty garden terrace, you will be served tea, sandwiches, scones and cake by one of the friendly volunteers.

The Bistro prides itself on delivering a freshly prepared and home cooked menu of delicious items. Your only decision will be which one of the scrumptious treats you will choose first, to place on the quaint pre-loved and individual crockery, which were all kindly donated to the Charity via their shops.

All these small but important elements will help you to relax and appreciate making every moment count, in the knowledge that you will be supporting people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition, as all profits go back to the Charity.

Priced at £15.50 per person you can treat yourself and someone special – and they’ll even give you a box to take away anything left, if you get too full up!

Positioned just outside of Cambridge at Shelford Bottom, you can park at the Babraham Park & Ride and take the five minute stroll along the path to the Bistro.

Book your afternoon tea experience on a Wednesday from 2:30pm – 4:00pm  by calling 01223 675777 or visit their Main Reception desk. Please mention at the time of booking if you have any particular dietary requirements or allergies.

Afternoon Tea is a new addition to the Bistro which is open everyday from 9:00am – 4:00pm to the general public. You can also enjoy breakfast, morning coffee, a cooked or cold lunch or coffee and cake.

One happy customer commented:

“Lovely food, amazing value, and great service! It’s a quiet and peaceful place to get lunch with very attentive staff and is in a beautiful open space. Definitely recommend and would come again! (Plus the proceeds go back into the Hospice!)”

Their daily menu includes vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Please let them know in advance if you have a particular dietary requirement, such as a halal meal, as they can often prepare this for you.

You could even make a day of it if you fancy a little creative activity first. Plan your culinary top up around a session in Arthur’s Shed, positioned in the beautiful garden at the Hospice.

Sessions include Laughter Yoga, Astronomy, Meditation, Card making, Papercrafts, Still life, Flower arranging, Clay work and sugarcrafts. Find out more about Arthur’s Shed sessions here: www.arhc.org.uk/arthurs-shed
