Will you ‘Walk for Rowan’?

August 22, 2021

Cambridge-based arts charity Rowan has brought back its annual sponsored walk – and this year, everyone’s invited!

Taking place on Sunday 26 September, walkers will set off at 10.30am from the Jesus Green Lido and follow a route across Jesus Green and Midsummer Common. There will be both a 1k and 5k route, making the event suitable for walkers of all abilities.

“All money raised will go towards the daily running of Rowan to help us continue supporting adults with disabilities to live creatively and independently,” says Fundraising Events Manager Ellie Breeze. “It was disappointing that the walk couldn’t go ahead last year, so this time we’re excited to make it even bigger and better by inviting our local community to join us too.”

The walk will be followed by refreshments at Jesus Green Lido for everyone involved.

Participation in the walk is £5 for adults and free for children, however free entry is offered to any adult who raises £20 or more in sponsorship. Rowan provides creative workshops and a forest school for adults with learning disabilities in Cambridgeshire and the surrounding counties.

The Walk for Rowan takes place on 26 September at 10.30am from Jesus Green Lido. For more information on how to Walk for Rowan, visit www.rowanhumberstone.co.uk/events/walkforrowan.
