Championing Business: Kickstart Scheme – your questions answered

The Kickstart scheme will create hundreds of thousands of high quality six-month work placements aimed at young people aged 16 to 24 who are at risk of long term unemployment.

Funding available for each job will cover 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus the associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.

This Championing Business event will provide an overview of the scheme and how to get involved. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

Joining us will be Anne Bailey, Director of Form the Future CIC, and Alex Hughes, CEO of Shift Momentum Ltd.

Anne Bailey is CEO of Form the Future CIC, a social enterprise forging links between schools and employers. Their mission is to help young people as they move from education into employment, helping them see the broad range of careers open to them while helping employers plug their skills gaps. Anne created Form the Future because she was concerned that schools weren’t connecting with the dynamic companies around Cambridge and that students weren’t seeing the opportunities on their doorstep. Anne is strongly committed to social mobility and improving outcomes for young people, particularly girls and other under-represented groups.
