Beacon’s Royal Walk

October 21, 2022

The team at Beacon Wealth Management (along with some of their partners and family members) are doing a ‘Royal Walk’ throughout October, both in honour of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and to raise vital funds for their chosen Charity of the Year: Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice Moggerhanger.

Collectively, they will be walking a total of 1,015 miles. This amounts to the distance from Windsor Castle to Balmoral Castle, via Buckingham Palace and Sandringham, then back to Windsor Castle – the final resting place of the Late Queen. The team are recording their efforts on a Strava group app and in the first five days (at the time of writing) have collectively logged 189.2 miles. This means that by starting at Windsor Castle, they have passed Buckingham Palace and Sandringham, and now are well on their way to Balmoral Castle!

The team are dedicated to making this fundraising event as much fun as possible! Their Good-to-Great Team have been busy arranging weekly meet-ups at various walking locations, so they can all take part and keep spreading the Beacon team spirit (and enjoy a well-deserved hot drink afterwards).

Nick Burr, Community Fundraiser at Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice, said: “Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was Sue Ryder’s Royal Patron so it’s truly fitting that the team at Beacon Wealth Management have chosen to take part in a regal virtual walk whilst raising vital funds. A huge thank you, and good luck, to everyone involved.

“The money raised from this event, and those that the team have planned to support Sue Ryder in the next few months, will go a long way in helping us to provide even more expert and compassionate care, ensuring that the end of people’s lives can be filled with friendship, family and love in those final moments together.”

Any and all donations are graciously accepted; Sue Ryder’s St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger is close to many of theirs and their families’ hearts and they hope to raise as much as possible to support this worthy cause. You can follow their efforts on their social media pages, as they regularly update us of where they are on their route.
