Sports Fund Award

Having donated £32,891 to 25 separate initiatives three months back, the Mick George Group has announced further beneficiaries of its dedicated £100,000 Sports Fund scheme.

The local construction specialist will donate in excess of £16,539 to 17 more groups for physical activity related projects throughout Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire.

The fortunate projects to receive support are: 

  • Soham Comrades Table Tennis Club: Replacement Barriers (£1,000)
  • Neots & District Fish Preservation & Angling Club: Angling Equipment (1,450)
  • Brampton Cricket Club: Practice Cage (£1,500)
  • Dean Cricket Academy: Ground Renovation (£1,500)
  • Cambridge Football Club: Pitch Shelters (£1,500)
  • Corby Kingswood Juniors FC: Clubhouse Renovation (£1,500)
  • Banbury Sailing Club: Youth Dinghies (£1,500)
  • NCAAC Gymnastics Club: Carpeted Walkway Upgrades (£1,500)
  • Spratton Football Club: Training Floodlights (£1,500)
  • Geddington Cricket Club: Pavilion Patio Upgrades (£1,000)
  • Corby Town Girls Football Club: Equipment Shed Installation (£850)
  • The Emerald Centre: Site Improvements (£1,500)
  • Leicester Hockey Club CIC: Pavilion Safety Flooring (£1,500)
  • Belgrave Rugby Football Club: Changing Room Conversion (£1,476)
  • Charnwood Trampoline Club: New apparatus (£763)
  • Ellistown Football Club: Changing Room and Lighting Improvements (£1,000)
  • Friar Lane & Epworth FC: Referee Room Extension (£1,500)

 

Individual grants are available between £500 and £1,500 for capital community sports projects or developments, open to the general public. These could include, but are not limited too; changing room improvements, clubhouse renovations and training or facility maintenance equipment.

Interested parties are encouraged to submit registrations throughout the year, during the four quarterly application rounds. Entries will remain open for the current round until 22 November 2019. For more information, please visit www.mickgeorge.co.uk/mick-george-sport-fund.
