Wyboston Lakes Resort improves energy efficiency and makes buildings more comfortable by extracting and recovering more heat

August 24, 2022

During the recent hot weather, Wyboston Lakes Resort enhanced the comfort of guests, as well as improving its energy efficiency and reducing its fuel costs.

It has achieved this by investing approximately £110,000 in upgrading its Heat Recovery Units. This has improved the efficiency of its heating and cooling in many of the buildings across the extensive site, including meeting rooms in the Willows Training Centre, Salix Building and Waterfront Hotel as well as several office buildings.

Pat O’Hea, Director of Property at Wyboston Lakes Resort, commented: “This latest investment forms just part of our overall Green Energy Plan. We have some more exciting investment projects planned, to include solar and wind turbines, which will propel us forward with our net zero plan.”

Over many years Wyboston Lakes Resort has been introducing a wide range of energy reduction and green energy initiatives. All electricity used on the site is generated from renewable energy sources, saving more than 1,300 tonnes of CO2 emissions and the resort is working towards a 2040 Net Zero Carbon Emission Goal.

The commitment of Wyboston Lakes Resort to sustainability has been widely recognised with Platinum accreditation from Greengage Eco-Smart, a Gold Award from Green Tourism and the IACC Gold Star. It is currently a finalist for the Sustainability Award in the Meetings Industry Association’s mialist 2022.
