The Communications and Income Generation team at Arthur Rank Hospice manages relationships throughout our community, increasing awareness of the charity and raising vital funds to contribute to the cost of our care. We are now looking for an Events & Challenges Manager to join our team and support our charity.

This role provides direction to the Events and Challenges team to create and deliver high quality, audience-led events and fundraising initiatives. This team engages new people and deepens relationships with existing supporters to increase participant numbers, income and awareness of the charity’s work and encourage longer term support.

Working closely with the Head of Fundraising, this role will lead the events team in the creation of an event and challenges programme whilst taking a creative approach and seek new income generating and awareness raising opportunities. It will also be responsible for the creation and review of budgets.

We are looking for someone who has proven experience of event management and events fundraising techniques, promotion and delivery, with experience of researching, developing and delivering events. Experience of budget setting, forecasting, financial planning and reporting will also be required along with experience of supporting and developing a team.

Due to the nature of the role, there will be a requirement to work events or attend fundraising opportunities in the evening or at weekends as needed, we have a TOIL system in place to manage any hours worked outside of usual working hours. It is also a requirement to hold a clean driving license and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Starting salary of the role will be £35,392, with opportunities to progress to £42,618. Please note that the salary quoted is based on full time hours and needs to be pro-rata’d for part time posts. We regret that we are unable to negotiate salary.
