Purpose of role:
We’re looking for a driven, creative and self-motivated marketing communications specialist to join our team to:
• Strategically position and amplify Peterborough Positive as a proactive Business Improvement District that is delivering a comprehensive business plan to transform the city centre, by improving experiences, standards and adding value for levy-payers (businesses), residents, workers and visitors.
• Support the delivery of innovative projects and activities based around business plan objectives that will provide key investment to make the city centre a cleaner, safer and more welcoming place, which in turn will help to raise its profile with new and diverse events and exciting marketing campaigns.
• Oversee marketing communications with levy-payers, stakeholders and partners.
• Develop and lead the communication strategy.
Key responsibilities:
DIGITAL MARKETING
1. Take ownership for the daily management of our website www.peterboroughpositive.co.uk ensuring content is up-to-date and factually correct and regularly monitoring performance and statistics.
2. Create regular newsletters for our levy-payers and monitor its analytics.
3. Segment audiences into levy payer, stakeholder, partner and media distribution lists and manage accordingly.
4. Manage the Customer Relationship Management platform, working with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure the team is using it effectively to allow a true picture of Peterborough Positive activity.
5. Capture all Peterborough Positive events on video and by photograph (or commission a third party where required) for use on social media, website, newsletters, reports and for any other required digital and print publication.
SOCIAL MEDIA
1. Be responsible for the day-to-day management of Peterborough Positive’s social media accounts, by creating a content planner and monitoring and evaluating performance / statistics on a weekly basis, creating regular reports and using insight to inform future content.
2. Continuously assess social media trends and make recommendations for introducing new platforms and channels.
PROJECTS AND MARKETING MATERIALS
1. Lead on conception, planning and implementation of all marketing campaigns through understanding business needs, prioritising stakeholders and by realising submitted briefs.
2. Lead on the creation of all marketing collateral by writing and designing in-house (newsletters, fliers, leaflets, press releases, posters) or briefing third-party design agencies when required, drafting copy, liaising with media and delivering all project and campaign assets to deadline.
3. Support the Chief Operating Officer with the successful management of event set up, set down and general administration of events and activities.
4. Create a photo library, ensuring it is up-to-date and clearly organised and that copyright agreements with photographers are adhered to and consent forms are managed accordingly.
5. Create a marketing planning calendar and associated delivery plans that dovetail into the overarching communications strategy.
6. Liaise with businesses and partners to ensure effective management of promotional material and literature, ensuring brand consistency.
GENERAL
1. Assist with communications activities as and when required for other internal initiatives / external partners.
2. Support the Chief Operating Officer with any required marketing content for Board reports, working group meetings and presentations.
3. Analyse insights, market trends and demographics and relevant information to provide added value to Peterborough Positive’s marketing tactics.
4. Establish and maintain KPIs for marketing campaigns and provide reports to the Chief Operating Officer on effectiveness and ROI.
5. Ensure GDPR compliance of all marketing activity and databases.
6. Regularly monitor and research marketing successes of other BIDs to share best practices.
7. Support the Chief Operating Officer to ensure joined up campaigns and activities to maximise levy payer benefits and assist with coordination, preparation and communication for events and conferences, attending where required.
8. Be a brand advocate and ambassador for Peterborough Positive and leading by example in encouraging fellow team members to do the same.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Skills and Experience
• Marketing qualification or relevant experience.
• A solid understanding of core marketing principles and possess a flair for writing engaging copy relevant to the target audience.
• A track record of running campaigns and projects.
• Experience of media relations activity including building relationships with media outlets, writing press releases and responding to enquiries.
• First class copywriter with ability to write for a variety of mediums and audiences, including marketing.
• Up-to-date knowledge of social media and its existing trends including how it can be used to build Peterborough Positive’s profile.
• Comfortable with using website content management systems.
• Sound experience in managing a CRM and maximising all its functionality for the benefit of the business.
• Experience in creating dynamic and engaging videos for use on social media and on YouTube.
• Experience using marketing-led software and platforms, such as: website content management systems, Mailchimp/Google, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, social media scheduling software, project planning tools, Google Analytics and Meta Business Suite.
• Willingness to work flexibly including some out of core hours work when evening and weekend events are taking place.

Desirable Skills and Experience
• Good knowledge of Peterborough and specifically the city centre.
• Minimum of three years in a marketing communications role.
• Experience in B2B and B2C marketing (social, website, events, newsletters, content generation, PR, SEO) including measuring and reporting on performance and impact.
• Experience in working in a matrix organisation environment.
