Our shops play a vital role in raising the essential funds for our Charity and we are currently looking for a Shop Manager to join our shop in Great Shelford, Cambridge!

Each shop is its own little treasure trove and unique community hub, with our brilliant shop volunteers keeping donations sorted, tidied and flying off the shelves.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for the running of the shop, managing turnover and profitability whilst promoting and enhancing the image of ARHC by the appearance and service of the shop to all customers. The role will have responsibility for the security of the shop premises, its staff, volunteers and stock, making such arrangements as may be appropriate for opening and locking up at either end of the trading day.

We are looking for a shop manager who has an interest in sustainable fashion, understands the importance of community, and loves working with and supporting people to enjoy passions through volunteering. You will bring your innovation to help create a good atmosphere in shop, and you won’t be phased by a busy productive retail setting. You will be someone with a can-do attitude, able to approach challenges, knowing when to reach out for support and guidance when you need it. You will be motivated by driving income in the shop, also motivating those around you through regular communication and engagement.

To be successful in this role, you will have a good general education with excellent verbal, numerical and written skills. Previous experience of working in a similar retail environment with leadership / management experience will also be required.

Please note our shop operates 7 days per week, therefore, you will be working on a shift basis and expected to work some weekends.

Please note that the salary quoted is based on full time hours and needs to be pro-rata’d for part time posts. We regret that we are unable to negotiate salary above the maximum stated within the advert

We are committed to inclusivity, respect, fairness, engagement and equality of opportunity for our patients and their families, our staff and trustees, our volunteers and our supporters. We value the strength that comes with difference and the positive contribution that diversity brings to our community. Therefore, candidates with a disability that meet the minimum criteria will be guaranteed an interview. We are also working to increase diversity throughout the organisation and we particularly welcome applications from BAME people who are currently under-represented.
