Van driver / Warehouse Assistant

Based at our Retail Hub in Pampisford, this role is responsible for collecting / delivering furniture to and from residential and commercial premises whilst also supporting with daily tasks at the Retail Hub. This will include multiple (can be heavy) drops and collections per shift and consecutive days in a working week, which may include weekends.
Main duties will include:
Driving a 3.5-ton van from point to point in a local area completing collections and deliveries.
Communicating with customers by phone, providing updates relating to the delivery or collection times, keeping them informed of issues or changes to agreed timings.
Safely moving furniture and heavy goods into customer houses and commercial premises, taking care to prevent damage or injury.
Assist, when needed, with Retail Hub operations, which may involve helping customers, donors or handling payments for goods or paperwork.
Successful candidates should have a full, clean C1 driving license, with previous experience driving a van or truck. Good communication and customer service skills are also required.
This role is subject to a standard DBS check.
Please note that the salary quoted is based on full time hours and needs to be pro-rata’d for part time posts. We regret that we are unable to negotiate salary above the maximum stated within the advert.
