Drop in for crafty Tuesdays at Peterborough Cathedral
January 28, 2022
Things are going to be getting crafty at Peterborough Cathedral on Tuesday mornings for the next six weeks.
Local artist and volunteer Cathedral guide, Lynne Collins, will be leading informal sessions of ‘Coffee, Crafts and Conversation’ each Tuesday from 25 January until 1 March, between 10.30am and 12.30pm in the Cathedral.
The themes for these friendly and simple craft sessions will all be inspired by the art, architecture and stories of the Cathedral. Activities will change from week to week and will include making pomegranate mobiles (to coincide with the Katharine of Aragon Festival in January), trying out illuminated lettering, making crafts inspired by the stained glass windows and perhaps working with clay. The sessions are just for fun and aimed at adults who like some company whilst making things. Accompanied children are welcome.
All materials will be provided for the sessions and there is no need to book. Donations are requested to help cover costs.
Lynne Collins said: “With all the wonderful art works of the Made in Lockdown exhibition around us, as well as the inspiring history of the Cathedral, I hope lots of people will come and try their hand at making some crafts. Whether you have some craft experience or none at all, we’d love to see you.”
